Britain has urged Russia to prove that its air strikes against targets in Syria were only objects of Islamist groups "Islamic state" and those associated with the network "Al-Qaeda", and not opponents of the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. This writes the "Radio Liberty".
"It is important that Moscow was able to confirm that the international community ... must say clearly: actions in support of the regime (Assad - Ed.) Are incompatible with the effective conduct of the war against" Islamic state "in Syria. And it's not a moral judgment - a pragmatic judgment, "- said British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council, which is convened on the theme of the fight against terrorism Russian Presidency of the Security Council.
According to him, one can not be an effective component of the fight against "Islamic state" and at the same time and by the same forces to attack and moderate opposition, beyond the suppression of the Assad regime.
