OFFICIAL: EU extends sanctions against Russia

The European Union has extended for six months the economic sanctions against Russia.
The decision was adopted on 18 December to the written procedure (no discussion) ambassadors of member countries of the Council of the EU, according to Ukrinform.
The package of economic, sectoral EU sanctions include restrictions and embargoes in the banking and financial sector, military-technical cooperation in investment, energy.
According to UNIAN, the decision will be formalized by written procedure on December 21 and published in the Official Journal of 22 December.
