The British newspaper The Independent will be released on Saturday, 26 March, in the printed version of the last time. This is stated on the website edition.

It is reported that the publication will now come out in digital format.

Chief editor Lisa Markvell thanked all employees who for 26 years worked on the issue of the newspaper, and noted that this is not the end of their activities.

She also remembered the very beginning of the activities of publication and the best moments during the existence of the British newspaper.

The owners Alexander and Evgeny Lebedev said last month that they were going to sell the assets of The Independent.

Earlier it was reported that the British Independent newspaper is going to abandon the printed version.
