Leaving EU is the safer option, says Michael Gove (Financial Times)

Campaigner holds out prospect of no short-term costs but only long-term benefits.
Michael Gove, head of the campaign to leave the EU, says the June 23 referendum gives the UK a chance to “take back control” and far from leading to uncertainty offers “the safer choice”.
The justice secretary told the BBC Today programme that leaving the European bloc carried no short-term costs but only long-term benefits.
“If we vote to stay, we’re not voting for a secure status quo. We’re voting to be hostages, locked in the back of the car, driven headlong towards deeper EU integration,” he said ahead of a keynote speech on the issue.
His comments follow a Treasury assessment on Monday that suggested leaving would blow a £36bn hole in the UK public finances, equivalent to an 8p increase in income tax.....................
