Pyongyang vows to launch preemptive strike on US targets

North Korea says it will decisively disrupt any U.S.' "political, economic or military provocation."

As reported by Censor.NET citing DW, North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Han Song Ryol on Friday blamed U.S. President Donald Trump for building up tensions on the Korean Peninsula with his "aggressive" words and tweets. In an interview with the news agency AP, he warned the U.S. against provoking the country militarily.

"If the U.S. comes with reckless military maneuvers then we will confront it with the DPRK's pre-emptive strike," Han said, calling North Korea by its official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. "We will go to war if they choose."

As reported by DW, Pyongyang's response will inclide preemptive strikes from sea, air and land.

The U.S. military bases in Osan, Kunsan and Pyeongtaek, as well as the South Korean presidential residence were named as possible targets that may be "turned into ashes in a matter of minutes."

Also, the representative of the North Korean General Staff called for not forgetting that the country's missiles are aimed at U.S. bases in Japan, and in the U.S. itself.

Last weekend, a U.S. aircraft carrier and its strike group were diverted to waters off the Korean Peninsula. The Trump administration has warned its policy of "strategic patience" with North Korea is over.
