Laboratory researchers at MIT have developed a tattoo dye that changes color depending on the pH level of glucose in the body.
The project was named DermalAbyss, transmits De zeen. The invention engaged MIT students and students of Harvard Medical School.
They have developed a method that replaces conventional ink for tattooing Biosensors - liquids that change color in response to changes in blood flow in humans.
According to the students, so they can "turn the body into an interactive display."
"We created four biosensors that respond to three of the biochemical composition of blood: pH sensor changes the color purple to pink, glucose sensor varies between blue and brown, and sodium sensor and one pH-sensor is exposed to fluorescence", - told the researchers.
Now ink testing on pigs, but in the future it can be used as a medical tool for people. In particular, patients with diabetes do not have to use a blood glucose meter to determine the blood sugar level - just to control color tattoos.
