EU Ambassador to Ukraine believes that without the help of the Russian side in the Donbas militants would be difficult to capture territory.

Tuesday, 11 July, the Council has completed the process of ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.

About this on his page in Facebook said the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

This stage of deep and comprehensive reform that requires maximum effort and uniting all branches of the Ukrainian government, business and civil society to build a better European future for the Ukrainian people" - said in a statement.

It is noted that on July 12 the Ukrainian government will coordinate with EU leaders to ensure realization of the objectives laid down in the Association Agreement.

"The Association Agreement was one of the key requirements and expectations euromaidan. And I'm glad we were able to joint efforts to achieve it ... I am sure we will win. Ukraine is bound to be in the family of European nations - and the EU and NATO" - said Poroshenko.

According to his Twitter correspondent of "Radio Liberty" Rickard Yozvyak Association Agreement with Ukraine with the EU comes into force on 1 September.

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump supports the new Russia sanctions with some reservations.
Marc Short, the White House legislative director, told reporters on July 10 that the administration backs the new sanctions on Russia and Iran, but it objects to a provision giving Congress a much greater say on sanctions, Censor.NET reports citing RFE/RL.

That provision would require a congressional review if President Donald Trump attempts to ease or end the bill's penalties against Moscow.

"Our concern is that the legislation, we believe, sets an unusual precedent of delegating foreign policy to 535 members of Congress by not including certain national security waivers that have always been consistently part of sanctions bills in the past," Short said.

The bill to impose new sanctions on Russia for allegedly meddling in the U.S. election and other matters passed the Senate overwhelmingly but has been stalled in the House of Representatives. The bill also imposes new sanctions on Iran.

Siemens has filed a lawsuit against a Russian state company and against its own Russian affiliate as the German engineering group tries to stop the use of its turbines in Crimea in violation of EU sanctions.

According to the Moscow Arbitration Court, the Russian capital’s court for hearing business disputes, Siemens on Tuesday asked the court to open a case against Technopromexport (TPE), a subsidiary of state technology holding Rostec, and Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies (SGGT), a St Petersburg-based joint venture that is 65 per cent owned by Munich-based Siemens.

Siemens said the group’s subsidiary was listed in the filing, which was made on Monday, for technical reasons. “All claims in substance go against TPE. However, since we sued as Siemens AG and not as SGGT, SGGT has to be informed as a party of that contract,” he said.

Siemens had confirmed on Monday that at least two of four gas turbine sets supplied to Technopromexport had ended up in Crimea, the peninsula that Moscow annexed from Ukraine in 2014. They had been supplied for a power plant in another Russian region not under sanctions...................
