US authorities plan to ban travel to North Korea
US authorities will soon ban citizens from traveling to North Korea.
It is reported Reuters citing tour operators Koryo Tours and Young Pioneer Tours, which organizes trips to North Korea.
According to them, officially the authorities will announce the decision on July 27, it will come into force in 30 days. At the same time, the term of this prohibition is not specified.
In turn, the US embassy in the capital of South Korea, Seoul, has not yet commented on this issue.
Recall that on June 19, an American student, Otto Wormbieer, died in the United States after being released from prison in North Korea, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Otto Vormbier was 23 years old. He came to North Korea in the winter of 2015, along with a tourist group. He was arrested for trying to steal a propagandistic slogan from the Pyongyang hotel.
The Supreme Court of North Korea has sentenced a student from the United States to 15 years in a correctional labor colony. After the trial, he spoke at a press conference in Pyongyang and found guilty.
In June 2017, it became known that Vormbjär, after releasing his custody in North Korea, returned to the United States in a coma . The Wormbear was examined by doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Ohio.
In North Korea, then it was stated that Vormbjär was infected with botulism and fell into a coma after taking a sleeping pill last year.
