In the Philippines, Mayor of Ozamis Reinaldo Paradiginog and another six people were killed during an anti-drug raid, reports the Associated Press.
It is reported that on July 30, police officers arrested the mayor, his daughter, who served as vice mayor, and four more. Suspects are alleged to have opened fire.
According to Chief of the Police Headquarters Timothy Pacheba, the Parodygin, as well as his relatives and guards were killed. The daughter of the mayor was detained.
It is noted that the mayor himself previously denied any links with drug trafficking.
The city of Ozamis is in the province of Mindanao.
Recall, the President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Douterta, declared on May 23 a military state in the southern province of Mindanao . This happened after fighting between the army and the militants involved in the "Islamic State" in the south of the city of Marawi.
