Iran: New US sanctions violate nuclear deal

Iran said that the new US sanctions violated the terms of the nuclear deal that was signed under Barack Obama's presidency between these and other world powers.

"In our view, the nuclear deal was violated, and we will show an appropriate and proportionate response to this problem," said Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi.
Iran has already stated that it will complain to the body supervising the conclusion of the 2015 agreement. Recall that according to the document, Iran pledged to stop the development of a nuclear program in exchange for facilitating US sanctions.
Trump, who during his election campaign called this document "the worst deal", signed new sanctions against Iran, Russia and North Korea on the eve of 2 August.
Iran has no diplomatic relations or direct trade relations with the United States, so its options are limited. Arakchi said Tehran's reaction would be "smart."
"America's main objective in approving these sanctions against Iran is the destruction of the nuclear deal, and we will show a very reasonable response to this move," Arakchi said.
