This is the first LNG party from the United States that arrived in the Baltic States and one of the first to arrive in Eastern Europe
The first gas car arrived in Klaipėda from the United States on Monday. He brought liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the American export terminal Sabine Pass, according to the portal Marinetraffic.com.
The official representative of the Lithuanian company Lietuvos duju tiekimas, Paulius Yakutavičius, told BNS that LPG was delivered to Klaipeda by the Clean Ocean tanker.
This is the first LNG party from the United States who arrived in the Baltic States and one of the first to arrive in Eastern Europe.
Lietuvos dujos tiekimas in June signed an agreement with Cheniere Marketing International (a member of the American energy company Cheniere Energy), which owns the Sabine Pass terminal in Louisiana, an agreement on the supply of 140,000 cubic meters of LNG.
In the near future another vessel from the USA must arrive in Lithuania. In July, Lietuvos duju tiekimas entered into another contract for the supply of LNG with Gas Natural Fenosa, which cargo should arrive in Klaipėda in mid-September.
Norwegian Statoil and the American Koch Supply & Trading (deliveries from Norway and Nigeria) also supply LNG to Lithuania.
