The UN Security Council unanimously supported the strengthening of sanctions against North Korea.

The US first insisted on a more rigid version of the resolution, but eventually revised the document, fearing a veto by China and Russia.

The first option included a full embargo on oil supplies to the DPRK and the freezing of assets of the North Korean leadership abroad.

"We do not strive for war. The North Korean regime has not passed the point of non-return. If Pyongyang agrees to stop its nuclear program, it will secure its future. The textile industry in the DPRK is the second largest exporter of coal. In 2016, textile exports brought the DPRK 752.5 million dollars. 80 percent of DPRK sells to China.
