The U.S. Senate has approved the National Defense Authorization Act 2018.

Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko commented on the bill on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"An important news before my meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. The Senate has just approved the National Defense Authorization Act on the national defense needs in 2018 (NDAA). The bill provides for allocation of $500 million in support of Ukraine in defense and security sectors," the president wrote.

Poroshenko said the bill allows for supplying defense lethal weapons to Ukraine.

"The bill also includes provisions allowing for the use of the U.S. defense budget costs for rehab of wounded Ukrainian military in hospitals of the United States, as well as strengthening of air defense and navy capabilities of our state," the president wrote.

"For the first time it is proposed legislatively to offer the following defense means to Ukraine: radars for air defense and monitoring of situation on water; marine counterrmine equipment; coastal operations and coast guard ships," the president wrote.
