Scottish politicians supported a referendum on the independence of Catalonia

Scottish politicians supported the referendum on the independence of Catalonia and plan to visit Spanish autonomy in order to help local authorities.

The first Scottish minister, Nicola Strangen, expressed concern about the situation and called for dialogue during the parliamentary debate.
"The right to self-determination is an important international principle, and I very much hope that this right will be respected," said Sterdzhen.
The Scottish National Youth Party leader, Rory Tablet, said he was heading to Catalonia along with a group of 20 people.
"Catalonia is not the only nation fighting for independence. Get away from imperialism and let Kurdistan flourish as a free socialist nation, "he also wrote on Twitter in support of the referendum on independence held in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Spain's central government in Madrid is trying to prevent a referendum on the independence of Catalonia scheduled for October 1.
On November 9, 2015, the Parliament of Catalonia adopted a resolution on the independence of the region from Spain. The Spanish Government immediately challenged this decision, so the resolution was suspended .
On September 6, 2017, the Parliament of Catalonia once again supported the referendum on independence . On September 7, the Spanish court suspended the referendum .

On September 21, the Spanish Ministry of Economy offered Catalonia autonomous funding instead of independence.
In Catalonia there are 16% of the population of Spain, the region generates almost 19% of the country's GDP.
