Trump spoke about canceling the Green Card Lottery
President of the United States Donald Trump will appeal to the Congress to cancel the green card visa program.
This is reported by The New York Times
According to the publication, Trump urged the Congress to cancel the long-term immigration program, due to which, according to his charges, a suspect in a terrorist attack in Manhattan managed to get into the United States.
"I am starting the process of eliminating the diversification visa lottery program today, and I'm going to appeal to the Congress to immediately start work on eliminating this program," Trump said.
Earlier, an American leader said that Seyfullah Saeipov, a perpetrator of a terrorist attack in New York, arrived in the United States from Uzbekistan, winning Green Card in a lottery held by the US Department of State.
Trump added that the suspect in the terrorist attack brought in the United States and other people, their number could reach 23 people. The program suggests that arriving for a permanent residence in the US can bring relatives with them.
