Moscow announces its readiness to negotiate with the United States to comply with the Treaty on the Control of Arms, concluded between the Soviet Union and the United States in 1987.
As the Tsenzor.NET, reported by Krym.Realiyi.
"We will adhere to all conditions of the Treaty, while our partners are committed to it. We are ready to conduct a depoliticized, professional dialogue on the essence of the accumulated problems with the US. However, we do not allow attempts to speak with us in the language of ultimatums, to carry out military-political and sanctioned pressure, as they say in choking in Washington", - they say in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The department claims that "all three decades, Russia has a strong commitment to the Treaty on the Elimination of Small and Medium Range Missiles," while the US, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, "is fairly free to interpret the essence of contractual obligations."
The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on December 8 coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Interim Nuclear Weapons Treaty, which resulted in the elimination of a whole class of ballistic missiles in Europe.
Washington has accused Russia of violating this treaty. A senior US State Department official said last month that Russia had developed a nuclear missile cruise missile with "a clear violation."
