The American scientist in the laboratory managed to grow the human muscle from the stem cells.

It is noted that the discovery was made at the University of Duke, North Carolina.

Researchers suggest that the discovery could be a breakthrough in the field of treatment of degenerative muscle diseases.

The muscle fibers were implanted in laboratory mice, where they clothed and functioned for at least 3 weeks.

"Many years of attempts and mistakes have passed, in order to finally create a functioning human muscle from pluripotent stem cells," said Lingyuan Rao, co-author of the study.

Muscle tissue was reduced and responded to external stimuli, researchers write.

At the same time, the muscle grown in the laboratory was not as strong as natural.
