The Newsweek Magazine in Manhattan (USA) was searched by prosecutors who were interested in the servers of the company. This is reported by Meduza.

It is reported that officially the magazine management commented on the searches. They reported that the interest of law enforcement was not attracted to the investigation of the magazine.

Later, Newsweek issued a note that the tax authorities have claims to the owners of the publication for at least $2 million, and an investigation has been under way for more than a year and concerns the loans taken for the purchase of servers.

At the same time, the editorial board decided to conduct its own investigation. However, according to the decision of the Newsweek owners, all the results of their work were destroyed, and the participants of the investigation were released.
All of the NY staff have been declared free.
