Assad's troops suffered heavy losses from the powerful blow of the US-led coalition in Syria

It is noted that several US soldiers were among the insurgents. Assad's attack was planned at SDF headquarters in Deir-ez-Zor province.

"We suspect that Syria's government troops were trying to capture the territories that SDF repulsed in the" Islamic State "in September 2017," the US spokesman said.

According to him, a US-led coalition warned Russia about the presence of SDF in the area, long before the Syrian government's plans to launch an attack.
