The United States has announced additional sanctions against North Korea due to the assassination of brother Kim Jong Nama, head of North Korea, in Malaysia.
This is stated in a State Department Statement statement.
State Department argues that for the killing of Kim Jong Nama, the DPRK authorities have used the toxic substance VX, which belongs to the category of chemical weapons.
"On February 22, the United States came to the conclusion that the government of North Korea used a combat chemical poisonous substance VX to kill Kim Jong Nam at the Kuala Lumpur airport," the statement said.
In this regard, the United States has expanded its existing sanctions against illegal North Korean activities.
The State Department stressed that "the United States strongly condemns the use of chemical weapons for murder."
Recall that Kim Jong Nam is the elder brother of the current leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-il, who was killed on February 13 last year. According to the media, he was poisoned with highly toxic gas VX neuroparalytic action, the remains of which were found on his face and eyes.
Later the police arrested the suspect in the murder. Suspected of murdering City, Aysha said she thought she was involved in a television rally.
Following the assassination of Kim Jong Nam, diplomatic relations between Malaysia and the DPRK deteriorated: the Malaysian Foreign Ministry announced on March 4 that the ambassador of North Korea should be expelled from the country. Also, Malaysia canceled visa-free regime with the DPRK . Then North Korea temporarily banned the departure of Malaysian citizens.
