UN Security Council Committee on DPRK approved new large-scale sanctions against a number of North Korean companies.
This is stated in a statement by the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Mr. Nikki Gaili.
UN Security Council unanimously approved sanctions against 49 companies and individuals. This is about 21 shipping company, one person and 27 ships.
"The United States Mission to the United Nations has secured the support of the Security Council for the largest UN sanctions package for North Korea in history," said Hayley.
The sanctions are aimed at preventing illegal smuggling of the sea, the purpose of which is the supply of oil and coal to the DPRK.
"The approval of this historic package of sanctions is an obvious sign that the international community is united in its efforts to continue to exert maximum pressure on the North Korean regime," Gailey said.
Recall North and South Korea on April 27 will hold the first summit in the last 10 years at the highest level.
