China at a meeting of the UN Security Council called a rocket attack on Syria in violation of international norms

China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, did not support the US, British and French forces' reaction to the Syrian regime, calling it a violation of international norms.

A statement was made by the United Nations' Permanent Representative to the United Nations at the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, Ma Zhaoxing, on Saturday, Cenzor.NET, referring to Ukrinform, reports.

"China has repeatedly called for the settlement of disputes peacefully and also opposed the use of force in international relations." Any unilateral military actions that contradict the principles and objectives of the UN Charter violate the rules of international relations, international law and create even greater complications,"- said head of the Chinese delegation.

He urged the parties "to refrain from any actions that could lead to further escalation."

The PRC also called for the continuation of the dialogue, stating that "there is no alternative to a peaceful resolution of the Syrian issue."

Ma Zhaoxiu also expressed the position of official Beijing to conduct an impartial investigation into a chemical attack in Syria.
