Manafort after Yanukovich's escape could use the Trump for enrichment Empty Manafort after Yanukovich's escape could use the Trump for enrichment

Sat Aug 11, 2018 5:10 pm
Political technologist Viktor Yanukovych and former head of the Donald Trump Election Headquarters Paul Manafort could use the post for a future American president for his own enrichment.

This was reported by The Washington Post, citing sources among Trump's presidential campaign.

"From March to August 2016, there was nothing to indicate that Manafort suffered a crisis," the source said to the publication.

It was noted that Manafort knew long before working on Trump - his business was in danger, because his "most profitable client", namely the Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych, fled from the country. After Manafort stopped receiving money from Yanukovych, his expenses quickly surpassed incomes.

The Washington Post contends that Manafort, meanwhile, was trying to save his wealth, "launch a global fraud scheme," and enter a new stage in his career, at the same time as the head of the trilogue headquarters.

It also became known that Manafort received a $16 million loan from a banker who was seeking a job at the Trump administration.

In April 2015, Manafort sent a letter to his relative, Rick Gates, "in panic." Manafort was indignant at the very high amount of taxes he had to pay.

Paul Manafort is accused of 18 points. Most of them involve financial fraud, including corruption, money laundering through foreign accounts, tax evasion, unregistered work for foreign governments, and so on.

The focus of the case, on which he first began to judge, is Manafort's work for Ukrainian politicians from 2005 to 2014. Then he consulted the "Party of Regions" and Viktor Yanukovych, and also collaborated with Ukrainian oligarchs - Rinat Akhmetov, Sergei Lyovochkin and others.

US Attorney Müller has said that Manaforth has earned more than $60 million in Ukraine.

Manafort is accused of having received more than $ 12 million from the Party of Regions from 2007 to 2009. US Attorney Müller unveiled a list of 500 material evidence in Manafort's case.

Ex-Polatechnologist Manafort is threatened with 305 years of imprisonment.

Earlier, former ex-head of the US presidential contender Donald Trump Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, stated that Manafort helped Petro Poroshenko during the 2014 presidential campaign. Gates stated this at a trial in Manafort.

The Presidential Administration confirmed that Poroshenko's team met Manafort in 2014.

Gates also admits helping Manafort file false tax returns . Also, Manafort's accounting officer confessed to falsifying his documents for tax cuts.
