"If they do not mind, I will leave the WTO," he said.

According to the publication, the US withdrawal from the organization will seriously undermine the post-World War II world trade system, created largely through Washington.

In June, Axios, referring to a source surrounded by Trump, wrote that he wanted the United States to leave the WTO. According to the source of the publication, Trump talked about it to officials of the White House "hundreds of times." In July, he stated that he was not going to withdraw the country from the organization. "I'm not talking about the exit, but we were treated very badly, it's an unfair situation," the president said.

Trump talked about the US withdrawal with the WTO during the 2016 election campaign. He considered such an opportunity if the WTO were to resist its plans to protect US manufacturing import duties and called the organization a "catastrophe".

The publication also reminded that, in turn, the United States Trade Representative in the WTO Robert Laitheiser stated that the adoption of the organization of China was a mistake, since he had a non-market economy.
