Well-known American boxer Oscar de la Hoya intends to run for president of the United States
TMZ reports.
The former world champion in WBC, WBO and IBF versions in several weight categories is considering the possibility of nominating US presidential candidates in the 2020 elections.
"Since I became a professional boxer, millions were asking me why I should not try to represent them in the elections, because when you become president, you reach the largest number of people," de la Hoya said.
Boxer cited an example of the rapper Kanye West, who also claimed presidential ambitions.
45-year-old Oscar De La Hoya, is an Olympic champion in 1992. In the professional ring, the American spent 45 fights, won 39 wins and suffered six defeats. After completing his career, he became one of the most influential promoters in the world.
