The government rejected the request of Pamela Anderson to Putin

Russia will not be able to fulfill the request of the actress Pamela Anderson, called on President Vladimir Putin to block the Northern Sea Route to ship fin whale meat. This was reported on Friday, July 10, "The News" with reference to the Ministry of Natural Resources.
As the deputy head of the department of conservation and use of wildlife Ministry of Nature of Russia Valery Fyodorov, Russia has no legal grounds for the detention of a ship Winter Bay, because whaling is not conducted on the territory of Russia. "Let versed supervisory authorities of the country where admitted killing fin whales" - the official stressed.
The representative of the Ministry of Natural Resources said that the ship may be detained only if the call to one of the Russian ports, if it turns out that it is carrying illicit cargo. In turn, Head of the Department of Shipping Administration of the Northern Sea Route Svyatoslav Stepchenkov reported that permit passage of the ship have already been issued.
The fact that the star of TV series "Baywatch" sent an open letter to Vladimir Putin, asking to block the Northern Sea Route was heading from Iceland to Japan to ship 1.7 tons of fin whale meat, it became known on Wednesday, July 7. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin did not know about the letter Anderson.
