President of Latvia will forbid to speak with the press in Russian

The head of the Latvian state language of the Commission on Andrew Weisberg said the president of Latvia should be in communication with the journalists to speak only in Latvian.
According to the Latvian portal LSM, it Weisberg said after meeting with the president of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis. Also during the meeting, he invited Vejonis Weisberg continue to lead the commission, and he agreed.
"The opinion of the old, and I think the new Commission, too - that the president should have with the Latvian mass media to communicate only in Latvian," - said Weisberg.
The newspaper reminds - with his election Vejonis stressed that he would continue to talk with the press in the language in which it is addressed - on the condition that he knows the language.
The head of the commission said that among the first tasks he called the decision a matter of learning the state language in the schools, which, according to the Commission, is now "is in a bit of limbo," clarity and guidance for the establishment of public television in Russian. The previous commission was clearly against it.
