Opposition to the Russian authorities conducted public activists on Saturday in the city center a series of pickets, demanding to abandon the practice of burning products.



Activists say the destruction of food disregard for the history of Russia, in particular, to exploit the blockade of Leningrad, so the "insane decision of the authorities revoked the pain in every heart that keeps the memory of the dead of starvation in Leningrad." The picketers also pointed out that 23 million Russians now live below the poverty line.



As the channel "Rain", on one of the participants of pickets attacked by an unknown, who tried to wrest the poster. As a result, the activist Dmitry Shards injured finger on his hand and the assailant broke his nose. Both members detained by police clashes.



Decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the destruction of food prohibited for import into the country, entered into force on 6 August. The Russian government has allowed to destroy the products covered by the embargo, in any legal way.
