Putin: Russia "no plans" to participate in ground operations against the "Islamic state"

Russia will not take part in ground operations against militants "Islamic state" at least "no plans" to resort to such measures, President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Charlie Rose program "60 Minutes" of the US television channel CBS.
"Russia will not participate in any operations on the territory of Syria or in other countries, in any case, to date, we do not plan to," - he said on the question of Russian troops in Syria.
He added that cooperation with the forces of President Bashar al-Assad and his other allies will be expanded.
Putin deemed it "anti-Syrian propaganda" allegations that the actions of the Syrian authorities are responsible for the ongoing civil conflict in the country and leaving Assad will help combat the IG. "To put the professional language of special services, I can say that such an assessment - a clear enemies of Assad active measures", - said Russian President.
He also said that the Russian military on the basis of the UN Charter assisting Assad army - in particular, the military-technical assistance.
"What we are doing is completely legal within the framework of international contracts," - added the President. He explained that Russia supplies weapons to the Syrian government and the presence of military officers engaged in training, as well as providing humanitarian aid.
