President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko intends to discuss with the Russian President Vladimir Putin on the possible establishment of a Russian air base in the country.
This he told reporters in Minsk on "RIA Novosti".
"We will discuss this issue with the Russian president," - he said.
"If Russia sees what we do not see, but we are closer to you (the West) and see, says Russia", - Lukashenka said, answering a question about whether it would be in Belarus Russian military base.
Earlier, Lukashenko refused to place the Russian military base in Belarus.
As reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to sign an agreement on creating a Russian airbase in Belarus. It is assumed that the base will be located in the town of Bobruisk, 150 km from the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.
Last year, the commander of the Russian Air Force said that the country plans to place the next airbase Su-27 fighters.
At the same time the opposition staged an action in Minsk in Belarus against the deployment of the Russian military base.
