The European Space Agency (ESA) and Roskosmos intend to jointly go to the moon research unit, said, "Air Force".

The purpose of the mission - to explore the possibility of establishing a permanent settlement on the moon.

Flying unmanned mission within "Luna 27" to be held in five years.

The device will land in the southern hemisphere, which will study the soil and the atmosphere in the presence of water there.

If there will be found sufficient supplies of water, the moon can be sent to people.

Head of ESA states that considered the possibility of establishing permanent population base on the Moon.

Report on the joint mission with Russia coincided with an increase in political tensions between Moscow and Europe that could call into question the success of this project.

Sending people to the moon is planned no earlier than 2030.

Earlier, in October, it was announced that Russia, together with the US, EU and Japan will be engaged in the study of Mars, the Moon and Mercury.
