SpaceX has announced the name of the first tourist to fly around the moon

The American company SpaceX has declared the name of the first tourist who will fly on a journey around the moon. He became the Japanese billionaire and collector Yusaku Maezava.

Maezava will fly around a month on a rocket carrier called Big Falcon Rocket.



He is on the list of the richest people in Japan. According to Forbes, the wealth of Maezwa is worth $2.9 billion. He collects paintings and plans to build a museum in the east of Tokyo. In 2016, Maezawa purchased the work of the American painter Neo-Expressionist Jean-Michel Bascía and the paintings by Pablo Picasso, spending about 80 million dollars on them.

He created his first major capital, Maazawa, with the Zozotown online store. Now he is the largest online retailer in Japan.

Earlier it was reported that  SpaceX signed a contract with the first tourist who will be sent to fly around the moon. The flight time and date the company has not announced.

In SpaceX added that in the history of the moon, there were only 24 people. And after the American mission "Apollo-27" in 1972 there was no one there.

In June, the WSJ magazine said that the US company  SpaceX will not be able in 2018 to send tourists  to the space flight around the Moon, which was previously announced.

In February 2017, Ilon Mask claimed that two people had already made part of the money for the flight around the Moon, which was then planned in 2018.
