The leader of the German party Euroskeptic AfD Frauke Petry encouraged to provide border guards to shoot at the right of migrants while illegally crossing the border of Germany.
She stated this in an interview with Mannheimer Morgen, reports Deutsche Welle.
Frauke Petry said that border guards in the first place, "must prevent illegal border crossings and have the right to use firearms if necessary."
However, she stressed that the use of weapons should be a last resort, adding that Germany and other countries need to strengthen border controls in order to reduce the flow of illegal refugees.
Peter did not answer the question about his vision of how to improve the effectiveness of border control and stated that journalists are trying to provoke it to generate headlines like "Petri wants wall at the borders."
Earlier it was reported that the German authorities announced the tightening of asylum regulations in order to reduce the flow of refugees to the country.
