In the Pacific Ocean off the southwestern coast of Ecuador recorded earthquake of magnitude 5.5 at a depth of 15.4 km. This was reported on the website of the US Geological Service.
The nearest village, a coastal village Muisne - just 4 km away.
The epicenter of the devastating earthquake of magnitude 7.8, which occurred on April 16 was 28 km from Muisne.
Earlier, the authorities of Ecuador reported that the number of victims of the earthquake had reached 499. Thousands of people have suffered.
