Another six defendants in the case were convicted of spying and sentenced to death
A court in Egypt has sentenced Saturday former president Mohammed Mursi to life imprisonment.
The court heard the case of illegal transfer of Qatar classified documents. Mursi was found guilty of illegal organization and management of stealing secret documents, reports "Interfax" referring to Western media.
At the same time prove that Mursi personally handed Qatar secret data charges failed.
Another six defendants in the case were convicted of spying and sentenced to death. Among them - two employees of the TV channel "Al Jazeera".
Prisoners have the right to appeal the verdict.
In Egypt, a life sentence in practice is equivalent to 25 years in prison, the report says. In other cases the former president in Egypt has already received another life sentence and was sentenced to death.
