Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said that any such assumption is simply absurd.
The US Department of Defense strongly rejected allegations implicating President of Turkey to the US military's recent coup attempt in the country.
As the Pentagon spokesman, Peter Cook, any such assumption is simply absurd.
According to him, the Minister of Defense received from colleagues in Turkey assurance that such statements will not affect the joint struggle against the extremist group "Islamic state."

Erdogan said that this means that Washington sided with the rebels.
On Thursday, the commander of US Central Command, Joseph Votel, who runs US military operations against extremist grouping "Islamic state", warned that mass purges and the military prison in Turkey may harm the fight against Islamists
The US military is based on military air base Indzhyrlik in Turkey, from where they carry out air strikes on Islamists in Syria and Iraq.
