Ukraine fears falling victim to Trump-Putin "grand bargain" - FT
Kyiv officials are concerned the United States will cede a "sphere of influence" to Moscow in an effort to improve ties, Ukraine reports, citing The Financial Times.
As Donald Trump's election victory was confirmed, Michael McFaul, former US ambassador to Moscow, was quick to identify where the consequences would be felt. "Biggest loser in the world tonight — Ukraine," he tweeted, according to The Financial Times, Ukraine Today reports.
"Mr Trump's triumph in the presidential contest is a shock for much of former communist eastern Europe. From Tallinn to Tbilisi, leaders fear that under his presidency the U.S. will no longer play the role of supporter and protector against pressure from Moscow that it has for a quarter of a century," reads the report. Ukraine is where concerns are most acute. The country's Black Sea peninsula of Crimea was annexed by Russia in 2014 after Viktor Yanukovych, the Russian-leaning president, was ousted by a Euromaidan popular uprising. Ukraine's conflict with pro-Russian separatists and Russian forces in eastern Ukraine is still simmering.........

"Poroshenko openly offered me position of prime minister and party leader," - Saakashvili
Former Odesa governor Mikheil Saakashvili says President Petro Poroshenko offered him the post of prime minister.
He said it in an interview with Korespondent weekly, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
"Poroshenko openly offered me the position of prime minister and party leader and many other things. Well, what would happen if I were prime minister? I would have to run after some Honcharenko [Poroshenko's bloc MP - ed.] and ask him to vote for my law. There are 400 Honcharenkos there [in the parliament - ed.]," he said.
Saakashvili claims he offered Poroshenko to hold early elections, but the situation was rigged in April.
"Avakov remained minister and a People's Front member was appointed deputy prosecutor general [Dmytro Storozhuk - ed.] so as to block potential cases against Yatseniuk," the ex-governor remarked.
Saakashvili believes that early parliamentary elections will refresh the government by 90 percent.
He said that the Hvylia political party could be created depending on whether early elections will take place.

Russia plots provocations to trigger early parliamentary elections in Ukraine, - SBU
The plan stipulates holding mass protests leading to a blockade of government bodies and expanding the list of claims and demands to the state authorities.
This was announced by Security Service of Ukraine's (SBU) department chief Anatolii Dublyk, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.
The SBU claims it has documents that disclose a plan to destabilize the social and political situation in Ukraine. This information is confirmed by correspondence seized from the mailbox of Russian President Vladimir Putin's aide Vladislav Surkov. The plan stipulates holding mass protests across Ukraine to discredit the state authorities.
"It's about organizing early parliamentary elections in our country so as to bring pro-Russian forces into the new parliament only with a view to revise the European course and change the external political vector of our state. The protests are to kick off on Nov. 15 with the all-Ukrainian rally of bank depositors. On Nov. 17, the focus of the protests will shift to the issue of raised tariffs. After that, protesters are supposed to block the work of government structures and voice their expanded claims and demands to the government," Dublyk explained.
The SBU urged people "not to let themselves be used by Russia's secret services which do not shun any means to destabilize and destroy Ukraine."
As previously reported, Ukrainian hacktivists from Cyberhunta allegedly gained access to the mailbox of Russian President Vladimir Putin's aide Vladislav Surkov Oct. 24.
The hackers claim that the published documents constitute a plan to destabilize Ukraine outlined in the online correspondence between Surkov and his assistant Pavel Karpov naming himself Nikolay Pavlov for the sake of conspiracy. This very Pavel Karpov was previously recognized by Ukrainian pilot Nadiia Savchenko as one of her captors.
The hacktivists published papers titled "Plan for urgent measures to destabilize the social and political situation in Ukraine" codenamed "Shatun" [insomniac bear - ed.] allegedly covering the period between Nov. 2016 and March 2017. These documents also contain the so-called plan to grant federal status to the Zakarpattia region.
The SBU considers the Zakarpattia documents, allegedly obtained by Ukrainian hackers from the Surkov's mailbox, to be authentic.
