The commander-in-chief of the US Army estimated the probability of Russia's invasion of Central Ukraine

The commander-in-chief of the US Army estimated the probability of Russia's invasion of Central Ukraine
Invasion of Russia in the central regions of Ukraine is unlikely.
The commander of the US Army in Europe, Ben Hodges, said in an interview with Censor.
"As for me, this is unlikely now, but people are worried because the actions of Russians are not transparent, there are no media, no one knows what they are doing, they are threateningly talking about a nuclear arms race." They recreated shock units such as the 1st Guards Tank army, they are very actively modernizing their army, so Eastern Europeans, including Ukrainians, are worried about Russian military force, "he said.
According to Hodges, a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine would exclude any normal relations between Moscow and the West and the United States.
"I do not think that this is probable, since why should they have a massive invasion now?" What is the purpose? " - he added.
Recall, the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Andrew Parubius, said that he was holding back Russia from the invasion of Ukraine.

White House stated that the Trump compromise, published in January, was collected on the orders of Russians
Representatives of Russia paid a company that produced unconfirmed compromise on American leader Donald Trump, assigned to British intelligence officer David Steel, said the spokeswoman for the White House, Sarah Sanders. According to her, this is confirmed by the words of the US president about witch hunting.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said at a briefing on July 27 that a compromise dossier for US President Donald Trump was being prepared by a company paid by the Russians, according to a US administration website.
According to her, in the United States there were public hearings that "further discredited this lilac dossier, which became the source of many false news and conspiracy theories."
"We learned that the Russian company was also paid by the company, which only confirms the fact that the president spoke about witch hunting and fake. It's a shame that the country should always go through this charade," Sanders said.
On January 10, BuzzFeed published a report on "compromising facts" on Trump. It contains specific, unconfirmed and unverified reports of contacts with Trump's assistants with Russian operatives, as well as information on "sexual acts" recorded by Russians. It was assumed that the report was prepared by a former British intelligence officer Christopher Still.
Trump himself called the report a fairy tale and "total political hunting for a witch," and the publication BuzzFeed - "a bunch of trash."

Putin "allowed" the US to choose which diplomats to expel from Russia
Russian authorities say that the United States can decide for themselves which employees will stop working in the Russian diplomatic mission
This was stated by the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin Dmytro Peskov, Tass reported.
"This is a US choice, it will be both diplomats and technical staff. It's not just about diplomats, the number of US diplomats in the Russian Federation, there are diplomats, and individuals with non-diplomatic status, as well as those taken on the spot, that is, citizens of the Russian Federation, Who work there", he stressed.
Peskov reminded that on the eve of 2017, Russian diplomats were expelled from the United States and noted that the staff of the American Embassy in Moscow had been given enough time to leave the country, because it is, according to him, a common practice.
Earlier, it was reported that the United States would withdraw 300 diplomats from Russia because of the Kremlin's statement.
President Vladimir Putin said that 755 US diplomats should go from Russia.
The US Department of State considers inappropriate comments by the Russian authorities on the need to send over 750 American diplomats.

Putin's, Putin Trump Presidency Has Impressive Consequences
The White House has not left hope for a better relationship
More than a year after becoming aware of Russia's efforts to intervene in the US presidential election, diplomatic implications - the collapse of relations between Moscow and Washington on a scale unprecedented for decades - make themselves known, writes The New York Times.
"President Vladimir Putin has been betting on the fact that Donald Trump, who has warmly spoken about Russia and its authoritarian leader for years, will treat his country like Putin passionately wants the West to address it," the newspaper notes. - That is, as with the superpower that it once was, or at least as much as with the great force that we must rely on from Syria to Europe and which is proud of an army revived after twenty years of contempt. "
His decision to punish hundreds of American diplomats and Russians who work for the US embassy, leave Putin, known as a great tactic, but not a very good strategist, changed the course again, the article says. So far, as the American officials and external experts have said on Sunday, he seems to think that his main lever of influence is to escalate the Cold War-style dispute, rather than in an unobtrusive attempt to manipulate events, using a mixture of twists, cyber attacks and information warfare. .
"One of Putin's main goals is to ensure that Russia is treated as if it is still the USSR, an atomic state that needs to be respected and feared," says Angela Stent, Director of the Center for the Study of Eurasia, Russia and Eastern Europe of Georgetown The university.
"And he thought he could get this from Trump," added Stent, a specialist in research on Russia and Eurasia under the US National Intelligence Council during the George W. Bush administration. However, now, the expert noted, the Russians are looking at the chaos in the White House "and see there the level of unpredictability that makes them nervous." According to Stent, Russia's reaction was to return to old habits, and the expulsion of diplomats, of course, is one of the oldest.
According to a source - an official in a leading position in the US presidential administration, the White House has not left hope for a better relationship. In an interview with Putin on Russian television, in which he announced a reduction in the number of employees, there was no fuss, the author of the official said. "Russia, it seems, has not decided on the direction of relations, leaving open the possibility of a reversal," - said in the article.

The US can bury the project of construction of the North Stream-2

The US can bury the project of construction of the North Stream-2
Putin will soon have to miss, - German journalists
With the help of a new law on anti-Russian sanctions, the US president may bury a project for the construction of the North Stream 2 pipeline, the German edition Die Zeit writes .
"If Trump goes according to the canons of Russian theatrical art, President Putin will soon have to miss it," the newspaper writes, recalling the words of the writer Anton Chekhov about a gun that hangs on the wall in the first act of the play and inevitably fires at the end. "It turns out, Russia should cut off construction as soon as possible, so that it will not continue to invest in a hopeless project that has already cost 9 billion euros. Since the new package of sanctions, passed through the House of Representatives and the Senate, fell into the hands of the US president not just a gun, but rather a bazooka. "
The article says that initially the law on sanctions was directed against Trump, his goal was to restrict the president in adopting an individual decision to abolish anti-Russian sanctions. At the same time, it was supposed to punish Russia for interfering in the US election campaign. Eventually, the passage at number 232 caused dissatisfaction not only in Russia but also in Germany. It is about penalties directed against companies that are associated with Russia in the framework of the North Stream 2 project.
"The additional conflict potential also contains the place in the law, which says that the new sanctions are aimed at preventing Russian dominance in the European gas market and support the export of American energy resources," the author notes.
"It is precisely in the case of the topic of gas pipelines and gas exports that the objectives of the sanctions are in line with those that Trump himself identified," the newspaper notes. Speaking in Warsaw, the US president said that "America is ready to help Poland and other European powers diversify sources of energy supply so that they do not feel pressure from one supplier." Returning from the summit in Hamburg, Trump told reporters that he plans to turn the United States into a gas exporter.
However, after dissatisfaction from the EU, US lawmakers have amended the text of the law: according to the new option, in the case of gas pipelines, Trump will continue to discuss steps with European partners.

Russian politician explained why Putin needed a complete ban on anonymizers in Russia
The main purpose of the prohibition of anonymizers and VPNs in Russia is to intimidate people who use illegal software.
This was written in his column on "Apostrophe" by Russian oppositionalist Konstantin Borovyi.
"This is an attempt to control the Internet, for the Kremlin, this decision has a more symbolic meaning, and people have been repeatedly accused of being cursed and reprinted." The VPN ban is an attempt to scare off those who use illegal software, and I think this is the main task. " - said Borovoy.
The Russian opposition also said that such a ban expands the power of the authorities to bring people to responsibility for using programs that have built-in VPN tools.

Ukrainian army is making significant progress in becoming a fully capable fighting unit.
U.S. Army Europe Commander General Ben Hodges told Censor.NET in an exclusive interview.
He said Ukrainian Army fighters demonstrate high level of proficiency despite not having much time to master it.
"What I have seen is Ukrainian soldiers did stop the Russians. The military I've watched, the Ukrainian military rapidly improve its capability over the last three years. They are very technically savvy, more than I realized, with counter-fire radar [provided by the U.S. - ed.], for example. They learn very fast, they've adjusted," Hodges said.
The general said some units have been impressively innovative in the use of modern technologies, and said he was optimistic about the potential of the Ukrainian military.
"I've seen examples where units were innovative with their small UAVs, drones. So that's been impressive to me. The fact is even though at the start of the war they were not prepared, they have adjusted and learned, and you see the result was to stop the Russian forces. And so that gives me some optimism about the potential that's in the [Ukrainian] military," the general said.

Poroshenko signed Law on Constitutional Court

Poroshenko signed Law on Constitutional Court
President Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law "On Constitutional Court of Ukraine," adopted by the Rada on July 13.
This was announced by Presidential Administration press service, Censor.NET reports.
The head of state said the signed document is a part of the judicial reform aimed at enforcement of Ukrainian citizens' right for fair trial.
The president stressed two important innovations stipulated by the Law.
"[It's] absolutely transparent competitive selection of judge candidates to Constitutional Court," the head of state said.
The president said everyone will be able to learn more about any candidate.
The second innovation is that any legal entity (except for state representatives and local government) or individual will be able to file a claim to the Constitutional Court. The head of state said never in Ukraine's history an ordinary citizen was able to do that.
"If a person, after having his/her case considered in ordinary courts, believes that the law that was applied when deciding on it is unconstitutional, then he/she should no longer seek people's deputies or the president. He/She will finally have the right to directly appeal to the Constitutional Court with a constitutional complaint, and the court must consider it and make an appropriate decision," the head of state said.
The president added: "I think this significantly increases the level of protection of constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens."
Petro Poroshenko thanked the MPs for supporting the presidential proposals considered in the Law.
