United States wants to bury "North Stream 2" through sanctions - Medvedev
The most "pragmatic" position on the North Stream 2 project in the United States who wants to bury this project through sanctions.
This was announced by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the basis of negotiations with his Finnish counterpart Juho Sypile, reports Tsensor. NET with reference to RIA Novosti.
"The most" pragmatic "is the position of the United States of America who wants to bury this project with any kind of legal decisions, instruments, sanctions, having a two-sided influence on the European Union," Medvedev said.
According to him, the American administration, the Congress, who make decisions, "are trying to promote their suppliers and replace the Russian Federation in this market (EU)".
Recall that the Nord Stream 2 project involves the construction of two gas pipelines from the coast of Russia across the Baltic Sea to Germany. The total throughput is planned at 55 billion cubic meters per year. Nord Stream 2 AF, which in April signed project financing agreements with Shell (UK-The Netherlands), OMV (Austria), Engie (France), Uniper and Wintershall (both - Germany), was created to implement the project. In June, the partners enlisted more than a billion euros on the company's accounts. It is planned that the pipeline will be operational in 2019.
At the end of June, the EU Council supported the proposal of the European Commission to obtain a mandate for negotiations with Russia on key issues for the operation of Nord Stream-2. Although any land gas pipeline, including the distances from Nord Stream-2, falls entirely within the scope of EU regulation, including the Third Energy Package, the maritime part of the highway, including a single point of entry, is outside the jurisdiction of the EU. As the basic principles for the negotiations, the EC sets forth the conditions for transparency of management, non-discriminatory tariff setting, "the appropriate level of non-discriminatory access of third parties," the level of differentiation between modes of transport and supply, the European regulator said.''

Ukraine will monitor withdrawal of Russian troops from Belarus after end of Zapad-2017 exercise
On Sept. 20, the Russian Federation completed the active phase of the strategic Zapad-2017 drills with a hypothetical massive nuclear-missile strike involving all three components of the nuclear triad.
This was announced by Ukraine's NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, six long-range aircraft Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 operating in the airspace of the Barents, Baltic and Norwegian seas were engaged in a hypothetical nuclear-missile attack in the last day of the exercise.
"Strategic missile troops were represented by a combat crew of the 14th Missile Division, which carried out a training-combat launch of the intercontinental ballistic missile RS-24 Yars from the Plesetsk cosmodrome (the Arkhangelsk region) hitting targets at the Kura proving ground (the Kamchatka Peninsula). The strategic missile submarine cruiser Dmitry Donskoy of Russia's Northern Fleet conducted an electronic launch of the sea-based intercontinental ballistic missile", - he said.
Moreover, according to Turchynov, an anti-ship missile firing exercise was carried out: in the water area of the Laptev Sea - by combat units of the coastal missile complexes Rubezh, and in the waters of the Barents Sea - by naval units of the Northern Fleet led by Peter the Great heavy missile cruiser and combat units of the coastal missile complex Bastion of the 536th Separate Coastal Missile-Artillery Brigade.
"This massive missile and air strike of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation once again proves the aggressiveness and offensive nature of Russia's foreign and security policy, its readiness to escalate tensions with the West up to a full-scale war, and demonstrates Russia's aspiration to dominate in Europe", - Turchynov stressed adding that active measures by the Alliance and the Armed Forces of the United States to monitor Russian military activities attest to "a complete understanding by the Western military of the scale of Russia's military threat."
"After the end of the Zapad-2017 exercise, the relocation of personnel, military equipment and weapons to Russia from the proving grounds in Belarus is planned to be carried out starting from Sept. 21 this year. Ukraine and its partner states will closely monitor the withdrawal of Russian troops from Belarus and their return to places of their permanent basing", - Oleksandr Turchynov summarized.

"In Eastern Europe, Russia continues to compromise the sovereignty of its neighbors," - Pence
U.S. Vice President Mike Pence wrapped Russia together with the worst state actors in the world in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly Sept. 20, naming it among the countries and terror groups "who seek to undermine the sovereignty, prosperity, and security."
Censor.NET reports citing the presidential press office.
"For as President Trump observed yesterday, we are once again confronted, in his words, by 'those who threaten us with chaos, turmoil, and terror,' who seek to undermine the sovereignty, prosperity, and security, all of which the president called the 'pillars of peace.' In Eastern Europe, Russia continues to compromise the sovereignty of its neighbors as it seeks to redraw international borders by force. Radical Islamic Terrorism continues to beset nations with barbarous attacks - in Barcelona, Paris, London. In the Middle East, the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism continues to flout the spirit of Iran Deal, destabilizing the region and brazenly threatening the security of sovereign nations. And as the world has seen in just the past few days, the depraved regime in North Korea is relentlessly pursuing nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles," Pence said.
