Stoltenberg made a congratulatory statement on Ukraine's membership in NATO
The North Atlantic Alliance supports Ukraine's aspirations to become a full member of NATO.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, reports the " European Truth ".
"Ukraine is a close partner of the alliance, we support the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine," Stoltenberg said.
However, he did not answer the question of whether Ukraine is on the list of aspiring nations, that is, countries that declare their aspirations for full membership in NATO.
Earlier in the list of aspiring nations NATO pointed out three states: Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Georgia. In 2017, Ukraine informed the Alliance of the official purpose of acquiring membership, but so far NATO has not published an updated list of aspiring countries.
Regarding further cooperation between NATO and Ukraine, Stoltenberg stated that his priority is the reform.
"Now we have to focus on reforms that lead Ukraine to NATO," said NATO Secretary General.

The complete withdrawal of troops would mean the collapse of the DPR-LNR: in the West, they explained what actions on the Donbas could go to Putin
The complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the occupied Donbass will collapse for the self-proclaimed so-called "DPR" and "LNR".
This was told by a British political scientist, professor of Ukrainian studies at the University College London, Andrew Wilson in an interview with the "Apostrophe".
"The complete withdrawal of troops will mean only one thing - the "republics" (the so-called" DNR "and" LNR"-" Apostrophe") will collapse. I do not see another logical scenario, but I do not think that now Russia wants it because it It may be a demilitarization and without a complete withdrawal of troops - this is probably something that Surkov and Volker agree on, something like the reduction of military support for the so-called "DPR" and "LNR" seems possible. But Putin ( the president of Russia - "Apostrophe") definitely does not want the disappearance of these "republics" - it will be a colossal defeat", - said the expert.
In addition, the United States, in the person of Kurt Volcker, believes Wilson, will be able to achieve some progress in the Ukrainian-Russian direction.
"The majority of people in Kiev were very pleased when Volker was appointed - and I think he is fully justified, he is a professional, who has a good reputation, knows Ukraine well, he is not one of those who will make a bad deal behind his back in Ukraine, but of course , he works for Mr. Trump, and the only thing we know about him is his unpredictability. Who knows what will happen when any possible deal gets to the highest level. I have more questions to this process from the side of Surkov, if you take into account his Machiavellian That is, we can not believe that Surk is a play by the rules. Also, I think Ukraine can trust Walker, but Trump"- said the analyst.
The professor also commented on the importance of two Ukrainian bills on the Donbas.
"I think that the renaming of the conflict is a good thing, and we are still stuck with the name" anti-terrorist operation ", which from the beginning was a bad idea. You just do not name each terrorist in terms of counterterrorism. To defeat the terrorists or" insurgents "you should have a political strategy for broad support within the community where they operate. Therefore, the rejection of the ATO as a name and the name of Russia as an aggressor is good. There are still a lot of subtleties in the West about this."
"I think it's less clear that the consequences of this mean Kiev's approach to ordinary people living in the "republics"- will these laws help to regain the hearts and minds of the people in the occupied territories in the long run. There are purely practical issues as they are consistent with Minsk agreements. I understand what prompts me to accept these bills, although I do not support them completely at the level of details, "the political scientist summed up.

In Russia, the number of protests has increased dramatically
In the third quarter of 2017, the number of political, socio-economic and labor protests in Russia increased by almost two-thirds compared with the beginning of the year. In the first quarter, there were 284 protests, in the second - 378, and in the third - 445.
It was reported in the report of the Center for Economic and Political Reforms (CESR), reports Russian website RBC.
CESR experts categorized protests on political, socio-economic and labor.
In the third quarter, as in the two previous ones, the most was the socio-economic protests - 312. These include protests related to the requirements of shareholders, dissatisfaction of entrepreneurs, rising tariffs, and so on.
In the second place - political protests, including supporters of Alexei Navalny: 106 of them.
In the third place, 27 (shares) were protest workers of enterprises, which were associated with labor conflicts - mainly with non-payment of wages.
Most protests were recorded in the Rostov region, the Krasnodar Territory, the Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk regions, as well as in Moscow.
According to expert Nikolai Petrov, the increase in the number of protests, especially socio-economic, is due to the lack of financial resources in the regions.
The head of CESR, Nikolai Mironov, called the causes of the protest actions the economic crisis and the inability of the authorities to resolve social conflicts in times of crisis.
Also, the increase in the number of protests in the report of experts is due to the lack of "capable political parties, public organizations, trade unions."

EU wants to change laws to reduce the threat from North Stream-2
The European Commission has prepared proposals for amendments to the EU Gas Directive to extend European legislation to the work of the North Stream 2 pipeline, which Russia plans to build in the Baltic Sea by the bottom of Germany
Deutsche Welle reports.
So, the European Commission proposes to change the definition of "interconnector". In the current directive, it means pipelines that link the gas transportation systems of the EU Member States. Changes are defined by the interconnector as "a pipeline crossing or linking borders between Member States or between Member States and third countries to the EU's border with jurisdiction".
As a result of the adoption of such changes, the Gas Directive will extend to the operation of pipelines to and from third countries, including existing and future pipelines. Thus, the European Commission will extend its powers to the North Stream 2 in case of launch.
In Brussels, this proposal is considered to be liable to deprive the North Stream 2 project of economic significance.
The fate of the proposals will be decided by the European Parliament and the EU Council. The European Commission plans to offer it already on Wednesday, November 8.
North flow-2 - a main gas pipeline between Russia and Germany, which passes the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The project involves Russia, Germany, the Netherlands and France. Against its implementation were the transit countries of Russian gas and the Baltic States.
-Earlier, the European Commission stated that North Stream 2 did not meet the interests of the EU .
-Poland believes that the North Stream 2 threatens the security of Europe.
-Denmark is discussing a law that can block the North Stream 2.
-Gazprom completed the construction of a part of the "Turkish Stream" in Russia.

Russian court denies house arrest for kidnapped Ukrainian citizen Gryb, leaves him in pre-trial custody
The Krasnodar regional court of the Russian Federation dismissed an appeal filed by the defense of Ukrainian national Pavlo Gryb indicted on trumped-up terrorism charges.
As reported by a correspondent for Censor.NET, the defense requested to impose house arrest on Gryb instead of holding him in a remand prison. Judge Lyubov Perfilova dismissed an appeal.
Gryb's lawyer asked the court's permission to take Gryb from the pre-trial detention facility to a rented apartment in Krasnodar. Prior to the hearing, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don confirmed readiness to allocate money to rent such an apartment.
Earlier, Ukrainian reserve officer Ihor Gryb announced his son Pavlo Hryb was kidnapped by Russian FSB in Belarus: "FSB had lured Pavlo to Gomel under the guise of meeting a girl, and detained him."
On Aug. 24, 2017, Pavlo Gryb, aged 19, left for Belorussian Gomel to see a girl he met through social media, without knowing her personally, the father wrote. The girl was supposed to come from the Russian Federation. Pavlo was to return home on the same day, but he didn't. His father went to search for his son in Gomel the next day, and found that Pavlo was wanted by Russian FSB for a terrorist attack.
On Sept. 8, Gryb's attorneys said they were not allowed to see their client in Krasnodar prison.
On Sept. 13, a court in Krasnodar, Russia, arrested Gryb until Oct. 17.
