The final status of Jerusalem will not be decided by Trump - Tillerson

Any final decision on the status of Jerusalem will depend on the talks between Israel and Palestine

This was stated by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, reports  Reuters.

He commented on the decision of US President Donald Trump to transfer the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which in turn would mean US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

"As for Jerusalem, the president did not indicate any final status for this city, he made it very clear that the final status, including the borders, would be resolved on both sides (Jezreville and Palestine - ed.)," Tillerson said.

Recall that US President Donald Trump has made a statement that Washington will  recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel  and begin the process of transferring the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

After the statement by Trump, dozens of people  were affected during a collision with the Israeli army  on the West Bank of the Jordan River.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said he is against any unilateral measures that "could endanger the prospect of peace for the Israelis and the Palestinians."

The Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine recommends that Ukrainians  refrain from visiting the populous places of the West Bank and East Jerusalem  in view of the probable exacerbation of the security situation.
