The annual volume of bribes around the world is trillion dollars. At the same time, the world economy loses another 2.6 trillion dollars due to corrupt activities.

Such data is presented by the UN News Center on the International Day for the Fighting of Corruption, which is scheduled for December 9th.

According to UNDP, in developing countries, corruption-related losses exceed 10 times the amount of official development assistance.

The UN also added that development programs jointly with the UN Office on Drugs have developed a campaign to investigate how corruption affects education, health, justice and democracy.

Earlier, the international organization Transparency International calculated that Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan rank 131 in the world by the corruption index.

In Ukraine, the Attorney General, Lutsenko, reported that the prosecutor's office had detained more than 9,000 corruption workers for a year and a half.
