Putin ordered the withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria to the points of permanent deployment on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Putin announced this, speaking to the military airbase on Monday, reports Interfax.
"The Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff of the General Staff, I order: to begin the withdrawal of Russian troops into the points of their permanent deployment," Putin said.
The Russian president said that over 2 years, Russia, together with the Syrian army, "defeated" the group of international terrorists.
Putin had previously announced plans to hold a Congress to resolve the conflict in Syria.
On December 6, the head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces announced the complete liberation of Syria from the militants of the radical Islamist group "Islamic State".
