Chinese company does not want to sell Trumpchi in the US

The GAC's Chinese auto corporation plans to become the first Chinese automaker to fully enter the US market.
However, to start selling cars in the country, companies need to abandon the car brand Trumpchi, writes The Wall Street Journal.
GAC plans to start selling cars to Americans in 2019. However, the management of the corporation came to the conclusion that the name "Trumpchi" is too "politically charged to the United States."
In an interview with the auto show in Detroit, executive director of GAC, Ju Jun said that the company decided to change the name of the Trumpchi brand, although it has been successfully selling in China for several years.
According to the GAC, this name is an English-language Chinese name, literally translated as "a legend" and has nothing to do with US President Donald Trump.
"However, political sensitivity and negative results of branding research show that it is worth leaving Trumpchi in the past and inventing a new name," the statement said.
Yu said that the company has not yet decided on the new brand name.
