The President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Douterte, said he would resign if someone would prove to him the existence of God.

Such a statement, Duutert, continued disputes between his administration and the Catholic Church.

"And if any of you, the most noisy, can say that he was in paradise and talked with God, did you see him personally... And if it is true, today I will resign," the president said.

Doutert repeatedly repeated that he believed in the "Supreme God" and questioned the religious sects.

In addition, he accused the church of receiving donations to support her "palaces".

"If you say that you help people, why do we give you money?" - said Duterte.

In June, the Filipino president called the "stupid" Christian god, after which he refused to apologize for his words.

At the same time, a conference on Catholic bishops is scheduled to take place on July 9 in Dutter, on which the president hopes to overcome the tensions with Christians.

The Philippines is almost the only country in Asia where most of the inhabitants are Christians. Over 80% of the country's population is Catholics. In total, about 100 million people live in the Philippines.
