Darroch steps down as Cameron’s national security adviser

David Cameron’s national security adviser is to leave his post after three and a half years, to be replaced by the UK’s representative to the UN.
Sir Kim Darroch has advised the prime minister on security issues since January 2012. In that time he has helped formulate the government response to Russian aggression in Ukraine and the rise of Islamist fighters in Iraq and Syria, as well as leading a renewed push to claim compensation from the Libyan government for victims of IRA attacks...............
