Russia blocked a UN Security Council resolution on Srebrenica

The Russian side vetoed a draft UN Security Council resolution on the massacre in the Yugoslav town of Srebrenica in 1995, said Wednesday the Associated Press.
The document proposed by the UK, the events in Srebrenica were characterized as genocide. The draft resolution was voted ten members of the UN Security Council, and four, including China, abstained.
Earlier, Russia and China have offered not to put the draft resolution to the vote because of the obvious differences between the permanent members of the UN Security Council on this issue.
Against the approval of the document at the UN were both Belgrade and the Bosnian Serbs, said the agency.
Commenting on the proposed version of the resolution, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in June that it sustained in anti-Serb and correctly interpret key events in 1995......
