Trump officially nominated Barr to the post of US Attorney General

US President Donald Trump has submitted to the Senate to approve William Barr's candidacy for the Attorney General's office.

As informs Censor.NET with reference to " Ukrinform", this is stated in the statement of the White House.

"(The candidacy was submitted to the Senate for approval - ed.): William Barr as Prosecutor General instead of Jeff Sessions, who resigned", - the statement said.

According to Reuters, the hearing on the Legal Affairs Committee of the US Senate is scheduled for January 15-16.

It is noted that after the hearings in the profile committee, the candidacy should be approved by the Senate, by a simple majority of votes. In the event of success, Barr will replace Jeff Sellan, who resigned at the request of the president in November 2018.

As reported, on December 7, 2018, US President Donald Trump announced his decision to nominate William Barr, the country's Attorney General, who already had experience in managing the Justice Department under President George W. Bush Senior.
