Ukraine and Poland plan to develop a new air defense system
The Polish company WB Electronics and the Ukrainian "Ukroboronprom" plan to jointly develop a new medium-range air defense missile system.
This is with reference to the Defense Blog reported by Censor.NET.
As the representative of the Polish company Roman Mush said, the Ukrainian-controlled medium-range missile R-27 air-to-air missiles are used as the basis of the project. At the same time most of the necessary elements have already been created, including the engine and self-steering heads. Fuel is also ready.
In order to expand the production of such air defenses in Poland, it takes three years.
A new air defense unit will be used to protect important buildings and facilities, as well as ground forces from all types of aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, guided weapons, air-to-ground missiles, anti-ship missiles and large-scale missiles.
The range of the new air defense will be up to 30 km for the infrared missile, 25 km for the radar missile and about 110 km for the passive radar version. The system will be equipped with a vertical startup installation. It can be installed on the Polish truck Jelcz 662D.

Putin is "the greatest gift for NATO," ex-head of the CIA Petraeus
In the opinion of the retired general, it is the Russian leader who gave the Alliance a "new drive to live" after the end of the Cold War.
David Petraeus stated this at the Raisina Dialogue conference in India, said Cenzor.NET, referring to "RBC".
Petraeus stressed that Putin's coming to power gave NATO "a new drive to live." In addition, thanks to the policy of the Russian president, the US "remained largely a pillar" for many world countries.
Asked whether the US would rebel against the new geopolitical order in the world, as well as changes in the global market, Petraeus replied: "Yes."
Ex-head of the CIA has urged residents of all countries to follow the tweets of US President Donald Trump, who are "unfiltered, unedited expressions of the commander and leader of the still great world superpower."
According to the general, Washington makes much more for NATO than other members of the Alliance, and criticizes them for not sponsoring this organization.
Petraeus also noted that the Trump administration not only continued to develop plans for its predecessors to transfer US troops and technology to Europe, but also to develop NATO.
David Petraeus headed the Central Command of the US Armed Forces from 2008 to 2010 and was director of the CIA in 2011-2012.
In 2015, he said that the countries of the West should provide Ukraine with the newest defense weaponry.

Canada prepares new sanctions against Russia, - Ambassador Shevchenko
Expect to extend Canadian sanctions against Russia this year. In the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a special unit has been created to deal with the imposition of sanctions.
As informs censor.NET, the ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andriy Shevchenko said in an interview with Ukrinform.
"At the moment, the list of Canadian sanctions imposed on Russians and separatists from the east of Ukraine and the Crimea is quite long. Canada remains one of the leaders among countries that are actively using the sanctions tool, but we know that our Canadian counterparts are serious about new steps. in this direction", - said Shevchenko.
According to him, it will be possible to facilitate the introduction of new sanctions by the recently adopted "Magnitsky law". "We very much hope that this law will increase the pressure on those Russians who participated in illegal criminal proceedings against Ukrainian political prisoners, the persecution of Crimean Tatars, etc. I think there is a high probability that we will see more sanctions on the part of Canada on this. year", - said the ambassador.
He added that even the Canadian MFA even created a special unit that deals with the imposition of sanctions.
"We hope that this will enable Canada to actively use the sanctions tool to restore peace in the rule of law world," Shevchenko said.
As it was reported, the "Magnitsky Law" allows Canada to impose sanctions on corrupt officials and human rights violators, regardless of their nationality.

Gazprom sues $2.6 billion in favor of Naftogaz in Amsterdam
The High Court of Amsterdam ended the hearing on the Stockholm Arbitration decision in the transit business, in particular the enforcement of the assets of the Russian gas monopoly Gazprom, who were arrested in the Netherlands.
As censor.NET reports, this is stated in the message "Naftogaz" in Twitter.
The decision of the High Court of Amsterdam is expected within a few months, according to Naftogaz.
As reminded in the company, the value of these assets exceeds $2.7 billion, which Gazprom is obliged to pay Naftogaz.
Recall that the Stockholm Arbitration ordered Gazprom to pay NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine $4.63 billion for the short supply of agreed volumes of gas for transit. Thus, according to the results of two arbitration disputes between companies for the supply and transit of gas, Gazprom will pay NAK $2.56 billion.
For its part, Gazprom has confirmed that it will pay Naftogaz of Ukraine $2.56 billion by arbitration in Stockholm.
At the same time, Gazprom refused to start deliveries of gas to Naftogaz Ukrainy in March and repaid the prepayment, insisting on the necessity of signing an additional agreement to a valid contract for 2009-2019.
Ukrtransgaz said that Gazprom has not met the technical requirements since the beginning of the year , supplying gas to the Ukrainian border with a lower than contractual pressure.
Gazprom, after losing in the Stockholm arbitration, filed a lawsuit with Naftogaz, announced the start of a procedure for terminating contracts with the Ukrainian company for the supply and transit of gas.
On April 4, the term for negotiating a supply contract (30 days from the date of the dispute or disagreement) expired, April 19 - regarding the transit contract (45 days).
On June 6, NJSC Naftogaz UkrainI filed a new suit with the Stockholm Arbitration requesting a revision of the tariff for gas transit under the contract with Gazprom. "The contract for transit between Naftogaz and Gazprom gives the parties the opportunity to request a revision of the tariff if significant changes have taken place in the gas market of Europe and also when the tariff does not correspond to the European level," the company said.
Naftogaz requires a revision of the tariff from March 2018, pre-evaluates its monetary claims at $ 11.58 billion, without interest. At the time, according to Yury Vitrenko, Chief Commercial Officer of Naftogaz, the amount of claims may be lowered under certain conditions by Gazprom.

We expect that the first batch of sniper rifles from Canada will be delivered to Ukraine this year - Ambassador Shevchenko
Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko expects that this year's first batch of sniper rifles will be delivered to Ukraine, which holds the world record for range shooting.
As informs censor.NET, he said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"We have already received a permit from the Canadian government for the purchase of very high-quality sniper rifles that currently hold the world record for range shooting, and I expect that this year's first batch will be delivered to Ukraine," he said.
Shevchenko stressed that Ukraine should look for different forms of cooperation in the segment of arms with Canada.
"We are looking at this as a joint investment in security and new technologies that Canada is also interested in. The arms market loves silence, so I can not say more, but it seems to me that we have every chance soon to see the first practical results of cooperation. "- added the ambassador.
Recall that last year Canada introduced Ukraine to the so-called Checklist of countries that allowed the delivery of automatic weapons, thus abolishing the de facto armed embargo of Ukraine.
