The authorities of the United States are trying to convince the army of Venezuela to abandon the support of dictator Nicholas Maduro.
As informs Censor.NET with reference to UNIAN, about this Reuters reported a high-ranking source in the White House.
The interlocutor of the agency called "the first stones" of the military who refused to support Maduro and expressed support for the opposition leader Juan Guaido, and also announced the appearance of "large stones rolling down the slope."
It is noted that the contacts between Washington and the troops of Venezuela are "very and very limited". The source also informed the US's intention to introduce new sanctions against Venezuela to pressure Maduro.
Recall that the Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia and Finland joined the group of EU countries that expressed support for Juan Guadio as the interim president of Venezuela.
Consequently, the 15 countries of the European Union have recognized Juan Guadino as the country's temporary president. Previously, such statements were made by Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, France, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands and Latvia.
